12&U Girls Complete Galveston Sweep of T&C State Softball Titles!

Aug 1 - The Galveston 12U Girls took the 3rd 2010 softball state title Sunday, completing a perfect season at 16 wins and no losses. The Galveston girls displayed dominance over their competition, outscoring opponents by a combined run total of 203 - 33. Rain delayed the state finals by 1 week. On the following weekend rain again intervened and tournament officials awarded the Galveston girls co-champs based on their perfect All-Star season record. Great job girls!

Semi-State Champs!
July 19- On Monday evening the 12&U Boys claimed Galveston's first Semi-State baseball championship when they defeated the Frankton All-Stars 16-1 in 3 1/2 innings. The championship completed an undefeated run through District and Semi-State with a record of 9 wins - 0 losses.
The team will continue Town & Country state tournament play at 7:45 Friday evening in Walton against New Paris.

July 12- The Galveston Boys 12&U All-Stars claimed the Town & Country District 3 Championship Monday night in Delphi. The team advanced through the winners bracket undefeated to meet Delphi in the championship game. It took 7 innings to decide the winner and the 9-9 deadlock was broken when Blake Clark knocked a base hit to drive in Jared Morey for the game winning run. The 12&U Boys advance to Semi-State in Galveston. They begin play Friday, July 16th at 6 PM.
12&U All-Stars Win Mexico Tournament
July 3 -The Galveston Boys 12&U
All-Stars were crowned champions of the 3rd Annual David E Rich Memorial tournament in
Mexico. The tournament featured 7 area teams competing in
round robin play. Games were played over an 8 day period. The Galveston All-Stars completed the tournament with a
record of 5 and 1. Congratulations boys! The 12&U boys begin
Town and Country District Play July 7th in Delphi.
10&U Girls Finish a Perfect Season as State Champs
Aug 1 - The Town & Country 10 & Under Girls State Tournament completed Sunday and Galveston again reigns as State Champs! The 10&U Girls All-Stars went undefeated throughout the entire tournament. On Sunday their first game was a win over Frankton, 2-1. This earned them their spot in the championship game. In the championship, the Galveston girls again faced Frankton and defeated them for a second time, 8-6. Oustanding work!

8&U Girls are State Champs!
July 19-The Galveston 8&U Girls All-Stars won the Town and Country State Championship in Mentone on Monday, July 19th. The girls defeated Delphi, North Miami and Rochester in their run the finals. After losing the first of 2 games in the championship, the girls rallied to win the second 13-11. Coach Mitsey Goodman said after the game "The team as a whole brought the State Championship to Galveston and it was an honor to coach such a great group of girls."

During their District run the girls put together an incredible come from behind victory rally after trailing 6-2 in the 6th inning against Eastbrook. Congratulations to the 12 & under Girls All-Stars and good luck later this week at State!

10&U Girls All-Stars Dominate at District!
July 18 -The Galveston 10&U Girls All-Stars put on an impressive performance over the weekend, securing a #1 seed for the state tournament by going undefeated in district play. Brooke Nelson threw a perfect 3 inning game, winning 17-0. Jessica Pinkston followed up with her own perfect 6 inning game to defeat Frankton 10-0 in the semi-final. The championship game ended with a 2 run walk off in the park home run by Holley Widner. Sydney Combs also had a 2 run inside the park home run. Through the 4 district games the 10&U girls outscored opponents 50-0! Wow!! These girls can play ball!

July 11 -The 10&U girls add another tournament championship to their impressive resume Sunday by taking the Winamac tournament. They will begin Town and Country tournament play Friday at 6:00 PM in Greentown.

10&U Girls All-Stars Take Denver!
Congratulations to the Galveston 10&U Girls All-Stars who went undefeated (4- 0) in the Denver Tournament last weekend to take the title. Two of their victories were by 10 run rule. Galveston defeated Pioneer in the championship game on Sunday afternoon to complete the sweep. Great Job Girls!
